Why can't I send email when I'm away from home?
At home, you can always use the smtp server that was privided by your Internet Service Provider.
When away from home though, you might experience some problems; you can receive email just fine, but just cannot send out email.
This is because SMTP server's only allow traffic from their own network. It means that if you are not at home, your IP address is from a different ISP (for example from a Wifi spot or somebody else's network) and so your home ISP does not recognize you and will block you.
When you travel often and it is important for you to send email, Travel SMTP may be an option for you. Wherever you are and with whatever email software you are using on your desktop, notebook, tablet or smartphone, you can use our smtp server and send out email with your own email address and your own email software (like Outlook, Macintosh Entourage, iPhone, iTouch, Android, just any email software out there).
Even in cases where everything seem to be blocked (like in hotels or some countries like China or Africa), you will have no problems sending out email. If you can visit websites, you can send out email! We even have a smtp server running on port 80, pretending it is a normal webserver but meanwhile acting like a smtp server, no firewall will ever block this as long as its lets through normal internet traffic (like visiting websites).
